Thanks for the daily updates - its been very enjoyable.
When I used to watch a great deal of cricket, I often stayed at the same hotels as the cricket team/saw them for breakfast. I fondly recall seeing The Indian captain (then) Kohli going to the buffet always with bat in hand (Test match in Durban)
The fast bowlers invariably had eggs/baked beans. Maybe security has since gotten much tighter, as there was no problem getting very close to them.
Hi Mike - Virat Kohli used to take his bat to breakfast?! Blimey... really? ha! Ha! Eggs and beans, good source of protein for the guys doing the hard work. Fruit for the batsmen? :)
I so appreciate your reports. My thrill was in 2004 when I spent some time in the company of the WP team who were staying where I then worked as a pianist, the Royal Livingstone Hotel in Zambia (Vic Falls) - it was their prize for winning the Discovery 20 over competition. Really enjoyed meeting coach the legend Peter Kirsten, Alan Dawson and a then up and coming bowler Rory Kleinveldt. Really cool people.
