Biting back at the ECB will always be futile while the Indian board has complete control. I’m surprised you would have a go at the ‘arrogant’ players and media of England considering you have gained employment from them in the past. Why is it always the English that get in the neck? I’m tempted to say grow up.
I’m never afraid of robust and constructive debate, Anthony. Relish it. It’s sad that English reaction to the WTC has been so negative, considering the good it has done, so quickly, for so many countries.
And my personal position really has nothing to do with anything. Peculiar that you would mention that. Anyway, I am English by birth and began my career there - I have always worked in the UK. But take a wider, longer-term view on the health of the global game. I'm always attempting to be a good 'grown up.' I'll keep at it...
My ‘peculiar’ comment was addressing the fact you are attacking arrogant media people and wondered if you were talking about any of your English colleagues? My comment still stands, why is it always the English that get it in the neck?
I don't think it is the English media who always 'get it in the neck.' Far from it. All media are open to scrutiny, comment and criticism. My frustration comes simply from the fact that there have been a few too many suggestions from English media to scrap the WTC because it is weighted against England (and Australia and India) and because it doesn't suit them. But the WTC has boosted and even, dare I say, saved Test cricket in four or five other countries. Anyway, Anthony, I appreciate your opinion and feedback.

SA not playing home test matches next season is staggering and a joke
This should never have happened
They deserve ateast 4 home test matches every season
Historical grounds like Wanderers and New lands don't deserve this
It's not just the venues which deserve better - it's the fans and supporters!
Agree with all what you say Manners, especially the last three paragraphs. All the best for the final!
Cheers Tanya! Sorry we couldn't catch up in Wellington, but there's always next time!
