On the same day the Proteas bowled the West Indies out for just 97 on the first day of the first Test in St.Lucia Cricket South Africa confirmed that one of the key figures behind the wretched boardroom misery for the last two years had been dismissed after a prolonged disciplinary hearing.
Obviously finding the right man is key, and even if found will he be accepted into the fold?...or if he is initially, after a few months find himself being hounded out due to all the political pressure. I seriously doubt that any of the CSA board members have cricket being the focus of what they are appointed to do - unfortunately - I'm all too skeptical - that administrators in the modern era are largely there to line their pockets - with cash, or hotel rooms and or expense accounts. Anyway Neil we live in hope and your reporting goes a long way to give perspective and therefore hope. For that I (We) thank you.
Thank you, Mike. All we really want is accountability. The structure of CSA has been changed but many of the same faces, and attitudes, remain. It will take a while for things to work themselves out.
It is a shame but not unexpected. The new MOI provides an excellent new vehicle for change - but it requires a responsible and conscientious driver. Even a vehicle with ABS and eight air-bags is not 'safe' if it's driven into a wall at high speed. It will take time - let's see what we have with the newly appointed independent directors.
Hallelujah! thanks for this update.

This is great journalism which (regrettably) v few in S.Africa can undertake.
It's not pretty and probably not mainstream - but important non the less.
Keep up the fight.
