I'd describe that as a 'Tubthumping' loss for you guys.
They got knocked down, but they got up again... and again...
So many unexpected performances in that game, including from the deck. I don't think I have ever seen an ODI wicket have such assistance for the quicks, then after a rain break, have no assistance BUT then become a spinner's paradise. And in that paradise, the tournaments leading spinner (in wicket tally) goes wicketless and @8rpo in a spell that very nearly cost his team the game.
And 2 part-timers come on and knock over the 2 in-form batsmen!
Good effort by the Proteas, sad to lose. Now attention must turn to the future of this team and how to include Reeza H, make sure Jansen recovers his confidence (India shattered him), who is the captain for the future & who will be our 'keeper? I thought Keshav had an excellent tournament & glad to see Tabraiz enjoying his cricket so much. QDK will be hugely missed. Safe travels!
“Sport hurts but that’s why we love it because, it also doesn’t hurt. It enriches lives and helps to divert attention from real hurt. Farewell Eden Gardens. Not one of South Africa’s players left an ounce of effort in the tank. Cynical sceptics and choker-obsessives can brew in their bile.”

Well done to The Team and their Support Team on an excellent run of games recently!
I think I recall your emails of, what, a year ago?, detailing the woes that CSA were having and how it was all falling apart? Bah humbug, who needs a Head Office when the workers just get on with the job?
I was waiting for your soothing balm and you mixed it just right.
Thanks again for your good works.
and Gerald Coetzee the 'find' of the tournament.
as we say in Oz, heart the size of Phar Lap

Long live ODI cricket!

Well said!
Great sentence this, Neil:

Well done on avoiding the er, cleansing bathe ;-)
I was so ready to eat humble pie and say I was wrong and that they are a good enough team to win it. Great effort by our team, maybe next time.....
