Roughly two hours and 40 minutes after the confirmation Pholetsi Moseki as the permanent Chief Executive Officer of Cricket South Africa, there was a phone call from an influential figure in world cricket enquiring about the ‘personality and nature’ of the man.
During an interview on air with Pomme the new CEO went to great lengths to repair relationships of sponsors and stockholders. Not once did address the wants the cricket loving !! Who are stake holders?
He has an awful lot to get his head around, and he'll have to do super-quickly. Although broadcasters and sponsors are seen as the most immediately important 'stake-holders', the game is nothing without specatators. Whether they are in the ground or watching on TV at home.
It is the objective of those who appointed Mr Moseki that counts! He is their puppet. I was in a similar situation many years ago. Appointed to direct the IT into the future. The reason for my appointment, amongst other issues, was that I had in depth knowledge about a supplier A. Supplier B, who the company was involved with at the time threatened to report me to the chairman. I explained to them that it was the chairmen's objective to switch to supplier A.
I hope whoever appointed Mr Moseki have SA Cricket at heart. Good luck MrMoseki.

Phew... I guess we'll find out in the next few months. If there are questionable motives they will not stay hidden or covered up...
