Why even bother with a second tournament? The calendar might have space but would anyone care even if it was better promoted? The public have voted with their wallets, just like the 4day final. A game that had more plot twists than a Grisham novel was watched by staff and a sprinkling of paying spectators. Cricinfo didn't even bother with ball by ball coverage. CSA need to understand their market, and work with what is left

Very few people know about domestic match schedules. Why doesn't CSA work on a free tonair deal lik TVNZ have in place to make sure grow up watching Cricket. There seems to be so much complacency CSA. And yes we need a Ali Bacher / Dave Richardson type of voice in ICC HQ because we are now treaded as the unwanted steph son of Cricket.

Hi Dennis, there are so many "why" questions for CSA, but very few answers are forthcoming. I just don't know. There is just so much conventional, 'in the box' thinking at CSA. I'm still recovering from the fact the CSA didn't facilitate the broadcast rights for the SABC because the national broadcaster couldn't afford the 'market rate.' The 'market rate' is determined by the market, and if there's only one buyer then their offer IS the market rate. There is just a complete lack of understanding at CSA about the importance of free-to-air coverage for the future health of the game...

Thx for replying Mr Manthorpe........It is also shocking that CSA don't involve people like yourself, Peter Kirrsten who already avail himself a couple of years ago. We have the brand to be much more successful
