Really enjoyed seeing the final from afar on SuperSport. Pity so few Tests in SA follow the five-day script as well as this did. Spectator count apart, it took one back to the days when WP v Tvl was like a Test, and broadcast in full on FTA!
I love the idea of playing occasional provincial multi-day matches at club cricket grounds. Easily accessible. Setting up TV cameras might be difficult though, but those of us without access to payTV channels that would not matter. PitchVision could keep us in touch though. I remember a pleasant day at LC de Villiers sports fields in Pretoria seeing a young Aaron Finch early in his career and the gritty Roelof van der Merwe taking a walk around the grass banks with one of his young children. About 12 years ago and I ain't forgotten about it.
First class cricket should be preserved and made more rewarding so that it helps to graduate good players for test cricket. One of the ways can be to allow overseas players to play in these matches like it happens in county cricket in order to enhance the skillset as well as to make it more competitive.

Comfortable win for Italy! Maybe 4-5 days on the Amalfi Coast is the way to bring the crowds back to First Class cricket?
