So good to get this perspective from a paying spectator. Centurion is a great place to watch cricket - and so are most of our grounds. Cricket South Africa need to make a concerted effort to market Test cricket, which has become a poor relation in comparison to the relentlessly-promoted SA20, which is not nearly so interesting.

I remember when you could bring your own braai to Newlands and probably every other SA venue. Long may the tradition hang on at Centurion...but Health & Safety's tentacles seem to get everywhere sooner or later

Sounds like such an amazing, chilled , family and spectator friendly environment! I had visions of coming from Sydney to Centurion! Sounds so friendly!

Great read

Is the boxing day test at Centurion an annual affair like MCG ?

A lot to learn for the BCCI to make cricket viewing an enjoyable event

Boxing Day has been tried in PE and Durban. The latter in particular is embarassingly poor at drawing a crowd. Centurion looks great and I think it has established itself as the traditional Boxing Day host now.
