Wow Neil, what an honour. I must have watched almost all of Big Vince's matches as a kid at Kingsmead from around 1972 to the 80's when I was a student. He was our hero! I could write about him for ages, there are so many happy memories. He should have been knighted ha ha.
He's just such an amazing human being, so modest. I'll never forget how utterly aghast he used to be when people suggested it was a 'tragedy' that he was never able to play Test cricket. He always replied with versions of... "our country is full of real tragedies and injustices. Not being able to play Test cricket is NOT one of them!"

Great summary fantastic bowler( & as important team man) who was out too drawer good as any I have seen ….Vince now making a difference.. hats off..
He played for Middlesex in 1980, when he had magnificent season and I saw him play in the Gillette Cup final win v Surrey at Lord's.
